Kingdom Education

What is Kingdom Education?

Kingdom education is a much greater concept than the title of a book that wrote several years ago. It is a philosophy or set of beliefs about education based on God’s command found in Matthew 6:33 which tells Christians that they must seek first the kingdom of God.

God’s kingdom should be every Christian’s highest priority in life. God wants every Christian to know, understand, and experience His kingdom throughout all of life. However, few people can clearly articulate what the phrase the kingdom of God actually means. Simply put, God’s kingdom is His reign as King of Kings in a person’s daily life.

As one author puts it, God is the king, we are His subjects; He sets the rules, we are to obey. God wants to reign in my personal life, in my marriage and family, in my church and even in the education of my children. Therefore, kingdom education is a complete system of education [in the home, church and school] in which God reigns supreme as king.

In my book, Kingdom Education, God’s Plan for Educating Future Generations, I define kingdom education this way,

It is the life-long, Bible-based, Christ-centered process of
Leading our children to Christ
Building them up in Christ
So that they are equipped to serve Christ

Kingdom education can only take place when the principles that God has laid down in Scripture are consistently practiced in the home, church and school. A true kingdom education provides the next generation with a solid foundation because the same truths and values are taught at home, at church and at school.
