About the Directors

 
The Kingdom School Institute is developed and conducted under the leadership of Dr. Glen Schultz and Mr. Larry Taylor. Glen continues to develop strategies to help school leaders understand a biblical philosophy of education while Larry works with a team of kingdom educators in developing a comprehensive plan to drive this philosophy into every aspect of a school’s program.
 
Dr. Glen Schultz
 
Dr. Schultz has been serving in the field of education for 40 years. Thirty five of those years have been dedicated to serving in Christian school education. He is currently serving as an associate pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church and Headmaster of Sherwood Christian Academy.
 
Prior to coming to Sherwood, Glen headed the Christian school work for LifeWay Christian Resources on Nashville, TN. During his 9 years with LifeWay he helped churches and schools understand the importance of providing children and youth with a Bible-based, Christ-centered education. In 1998 LifeWay published his book, Kingdom Education: God’s Plan for Educating Future Generations.
 
After teaching high school chemistry for 5 years in a public school Dr. Schultz served as a teacher, secondary principal and superintendent during a 16 year tenure at Lynchburg Christian Academy under the leadership of Dr. Jerry Falwell. He then spent 7 years serving as the Southeast Regional Director for the Association of Christian Schools International.
 
Glen earned his BA degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in 1968. He went on to earn a Med degree in school administration and an EdD degree in educational leadership and policies studies from the University of Virginia.
 
Dr. Schultz continues to provide consulting services to a wide variety of Christian organizations. He serves as an adjunct professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he teaches philosophy of education courses. He is the director of Kingdom Education Ministries that is dedicated to uniting the home, church and school under a biblical philosophy of education in order to equip future generations to think and act from a biblical worldview.
 

Glen and his wife Sharon have three children and six grandchildren, all of whom have attended Christian schools throughout their years of formal education.

Mr. Larry Taylor
Mr. Taylor has served in the field of education for 22 years. He currently serves as the Head of School at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Dallas, Texas. Prior to coming to Prestonwood, Larry served as High School Principal and Assistant Headmaster at The First Academy, Orlando Florida during a twelve year tenure at the school. While there, he was instrumental in the development of the Academy’s high school program. Larry has also served as a teacher and basketball coach at various times in his teaching career. He remains very involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athlete Ministry. 
 
Throughout Mr. Taylor’s educational career he has focused on building student leaders and training parents to be effective biblical leaders in the home. Larry is the founder of the Student Leadership Institute and has developed a training program for parents called Becoming a Kingdom Family.
 
Larry earned his BA in science education from the University of Central Florida. He as a Master’s Degree in educational leadership from Nova University and is currently working on his PhD in leadership philosophy at Dallas Baptist University.
 
Mr. Taylor continues to consult with Christian schools in helping them launch student leadership programs in their schools. He is also widely sought after to assist school leaders in building kingdom-focused programs in Christian schools around the country. He has worked with ACSI and Student Leadership University in an effort to train students to be strong leaders who think and act from a biblical worldview.
 
Larry and his wife Delinda have four sons. Three of their sons attend Prestonwood Christian Academy while their oldest son is a student at Yale University.
